After being slammed with a restrictive NC-17 rating by the mega-dumb ratings board Blue Valentine won an R rating on appeal without having to cut a scene or lower its sexual. Starring Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams the grinding regurgitation of the dissolution will. For Blue Valentine he had a clear idea of how form would mesh with content. Its got great actors who live in their characters as if theres no other place to be a transfixing storyline and a director so committed to his vision that he asked his actors to.

They were my least favourite part of the film which I otherwise loved. I especially liked what you said their relationship not being about good or bad just plain incompatibility.
